Treasury to Discontinue the Sale of Savings Bonds

Beginning January 1, 2012, the US Treasury will no longer offer sales of paper savings bonds, including sales through financial institutions such as LNB, as well as applications mailed directly to the Federal Reserve Bank. Savings bonds will continue to be available for purchase in TreasuryDirect.
