What LNB Will Never Ask Over the Phone

Protecting your financial well-being is part of how we serve our neighbors. Scammers sometimes pose as local banks or trusted businesses to pressure people into acting quickly. Knowing what we will never ask for — and when to pause — can help keep your accounts safe.

We Will Never Ask You To:

  • Share your full PIN or online banking password

  • Provide one-time passcodes (OTPs) or security codes sent to you

  • Give your full debit or credit card number, including the CVV

  • Reveal complete answers to security questions

  • Transfer money or move funds to a “safe” or “secure” account

  • Withdraw cash urgently or act immediately to avoid penalties

  • Download apps, install software, or allow remote access to your device

  • Click links, scan QR codes, or visit websites during a phone call

  • Keep the call secret or discourage you from contacting us directly

  • Make payments using gift cards, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers

Stop. Think. Protect Yourself.

Awareness and education go a long way in preventing fraud. Even when a message encourages you to act fast — such as a “limited-time deal” or urgent warning — take a moment to pause before clicking or responding.

Ask yourself:

  • Is it urgent or threatening?

  • Does it use a generic greeting instead of your name?

  • Is it asking for personal or financial information?

  • Does it sound too good to be true?

If the answer is yes to any of these, it could be a scam.

Monitor Your Accounts Regularly

Review your account activity and statements often. Spotting unusual transactions early can help stop fraud attempts as soon as possible.
