The Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Tom Kime, Executive Vice President and COO of The Lyons National Bank, has been named 2011 Citizen of the Year. The Citizen of the Year award, sponsored by Five Star Bank, celebrates an individual who has unselfishly given to the community and created a more dignified, unique place in which we all work and live.
Upon finding out that he received this recognition, Tom stated that "truthfully, I consider myself very lucky to live and to have had the opportunity to raise my family here in the Finger Lakes and to be involved here as a local community banker. Doing so has given me a real desire to help the greater Geneva community and the Finger Lakes area as a whole to prosper and to be a better place to live."
"He has given countless time and years to the community on various boards and committees. Tom believes that if the community isn't successful we aren't," stated Steve Wadhams of Wadhams Enterprises, Inc., and nominator of Tom Kime. Some of the boards and committees that Tom dedicates his time to are for organizations such as Financial Institutions, Inc., New York Bankers Association Retail Banking Division, Finger Lakes Regional Health Systems, Inc., City of Geneva Revolving Loan Committee, Jobs for Geneva, Inc., Finger Lakes Fire and Casualty, and Friends of Sampson State Park, among many others.
