LNB donated $400 towards the 16th annual Montezuma Muckrace at the Montezuma Wetland Complex at the northern end of Cayuga Lake. The race is a 24-hour bird-a-thon that raises money for bird conservation and habitat restoration projects. The goal for this year's Muckrace is to raise $11,000 to support the construction of an observation platform over the Deep Muck, a 31-acre emergent marsh restoration project with the Northern Montezuma Wildlife Management Area. This universally accessible observation platform will allow people to get up close and personal to emergent marsh habitat and all the wildlife that depend on it.
LNB also donated $500 towards the 6th Annual Rotary Wine & Music Festival. The event, hosted by the Seneca Falls Rotary Club, took place at Goosewatch Winery on Cayuga Lake. Proceeds from the music festival support Clean-Water projects worldwide in addition to local projects of the Seneca Falls Rotary Club, including Red Cross of the Finger Lakes, United Way's Partner Agencies, scholarships to Mynderse Academy, and dictionaries to all third graders in Seneca County.
