The Lyons National Bank raised $1250 in support of the American Heart Association's National Wear Red Day to raise awareness for heart disease among women.
Under the coordination of Assistant Vice President and Deposit Operations Supervisor, Cheryl Graham, 125 employees participated by wearing red on Friday February 7th, raising $625. The Bank then matched the funds, bringing their total donation to $1250.
Heart disease is the number 1 killer of women in America. Wear Red Day is an important part of the Go Red for Women goal to build awareness and urge women to take concrete actions to reduce their risk of heart disease. It's also a very important way to raise crucial funds for research and education. This year marks the 11th Anniversary of National Wear Red Day.
