LNB Brings Hometown Banking to Auburn

The Lyons National Bank (LNB) announces the opening of its first of two Cayuga County branch offices in 2017. LNB’s downtown office, located at 63 Genesee Street (the former HSBC building), will open on April 24. LNB’s downtown office is already staffed with experienced banking professionals, including Auburn locals Demetrius Murphy, branch manager and Gregory Lattimore, commercial lender, Craig Mietz, mortgage originator and Angelica Reyes, assistant branch manager.

“I’m thrilled to be part of LNB’s expansion,” said Murphy. “Having been a part of the community for my entire life, I’m confident that residents and businesses alike will appreciate LNB’s community-minded philosophy of banking. They have assembled a great team of talented people that know Auburn from a personal perspective, and we all look forward to providing quality products and service to the residents and businesses of our hometown.”

Plans to build a new branch, on the site of the former La-Z-Boy furniture store on Grant Avenue in Auburn, are underway. Local architects at Beardsley Design Associates are designing the new, full-service branch that will include a technology-equipped meeting room, which will be made available to organizations of the Auburn community. Demolition of the existing structure is scheduled for early spring with an expected grand opening date in early fall 2017.

“We are very excited to enter the Auburn market,” said Thomas L. Kime, president at LNB. “The feedback we have received already from community members has been exceedingly positive. The community has seen a great deal of change among their banks, and I have no doubt our hometown-style of community banking will be a perfect fit for the area.”
